Atlas privacy policy
This policy explains how Atlas handles your information. The short answer is that it stays on your device unless you choose otherwise.
The short version
- Everything you put into Atlas is stored on your device: in the iPhone app's own storage, or in your browser when you use the web app.
- Nothing is stored in the cloud until you choose to sign in. If you do, your Atlas data is kept in your own account so your devices can share it. Your cycle log is the exception: it stays on your device unless you also choose to sync it. Your fasts are never synced.
- An Atlas PDF of your routines is made on your device and goes only where you send it.
- Reading a label with AI is optional, and Atlas asks before any photo leaves your device. The photo is used once and not kept.
- We do not sell or share your data. There is no analytics, no advertising and no tracking.
- You can delete your account, and everything stored for it, at any time inside the app.
Who we are
Atlas is made by TESAVA Ltd. In this policy, "we" and "us" mean TESAVA Ltd.
- Registered office
- 124 City Road, London EC1V 2NX, United Kingdom
- Company number
- 17346919, registered in England and Wales
- hello@tesava.co.uk
What Atlas stores on your device
- The habits you set up and your check ins.
- Your plan: training, nutrition targets, supplements, skincare routine and daily targets.
- Your planner tasks, custom lists, journal entries, any weights you enter, and your cycle log: period dates, flow, symptoms, moods, notes and the usual lengths you give.
- Your fasting timer: the fasting window you set, a fast in progress, the fasts you have logged and your reminder choices.
- Your settings, such as units, theme and your choice about reading labels with AI.
In the app this is kept in its private storage on your iPhone or iPad. It stays there until you delete it in Atlas or remove the app. In the web app it is kept in the browser's own storage for the site, on that device, until you delete it in Atlas, clear the site's data in your browser, or remove the installed web app. Some of it, such as your weight, your journal, your fasts or your cycle log, can count as health information. It stays on your device. If you choose to sign in, your weight and journal are kept only in your own account, which we do not read, your cycle log goes there only if you choose to sync it as well (see Your cycle log below), and your fasts never go there.
What we do not do
- We do not collect anything you have not chosen to send. Signed out, Atlas makes no requests to us or to anyone else while you use it (the web app loads its own files from its site). Signed in, it talks only to the sync service and, if you allow it, the label reader, both described below.
- We do not share or sell any data.
- We do not use analytics, crash reporting or advertising identifiers.
- We do not track you across apps or websites, and we set no tracking cookies.
Buying the iPhone app
The iPhone app is sold through Apple's App Store. Apple handles the payment under its own terms and privacy policy; we never see your card or payment details. Apple sends us sales reports that do not identify you.
Hosting
The Atlas website and these pages are served by hosting providers, which process the technical details of each request (such as your IP address) to deliver the files and keep the service secure, under their own privacy policies. We do not use those logs to identify or profile anyone.
Your account and sync
An account is optional. Nothing is stored in the cloud until you sign in, and Atlas works without an account exactly as it does signed out.
- Ways to sign in: with your email address and a password, or, in the iPhone app, with Sign in with Apple. If you use Sign in with Apple, Apple gives us an email address for your account (you can choose a private relay address that forwards to you) and an identifier for your Apple Account. We do not ask Apple for your name.
- What is stored when you sign in: your email address, your password if you set one (stored hashed, never in plain text), and your Atlas data: tasks, routines, habits, check ins, journal entries, plan, settings and weights, and your cycle log only if you choose Sync my cycle log. Your theme choice, your fasting timer and its log, and the record Atlas keeps to time Apple's rating prompt, stay on each device.
- Where: in a Supabase project in the European Union, operated for Atlas. Supabase processes it on our behalf under its own terms and security measures.
- Who can read it: only your account. Every row is protected by row level security, so a request can only ever read or change the rows that belong to the signed in account. We do not read your data, and there is no analytics or profiling on top of it.
- What travels: only the documents that changed, over an encrypted connection, when you are online and signed in. Offline, changes wait on the device and sync when you are back.
- Emails: the only emails sent are the ones you ask for, such as a password reset, and, only if you tick the box for it, the product emails described below.
Your cycle log
Cycle tracking keeps your period dates, flow, symptoms, moods, notes and the usual lengths you give it. This is health information, so it is handled separately from the rest of your data.
- On your device by default: the log is kept on your device and the predictions are worked out there. Signed in or not, nothing about your cycle reaches us unless you choose to sync it.
- Syncing it is a separate choice: in Cycle tracking, Sync my cycle log explains what is stored and asks you first. We record when you agreed and which wording you saw. Our lawful basis is your explicit consent. Your cycle log is then kept with the rest of your account in the European Union, readable only by your account, and never used for advertising, analytics or anything else.
- Stopping: Stop syncing removes your cycle log from your account and keeps it on each device that has it. Delete my cloud data and Delete account remove it too.
- Predictions: worked out only from the dates you log. They are estimates, not medical advice. Atlas cannot tell when you are fertile, so they must not be used as contraception or to plan a pregnancy.
- Never shared by Atlas: an Atlas PDF never includes your cycle log or your journal.
Deleting your account
Open Settings, Account and sync, and choose Delete account. Type DELETE to confirm. In one step this deletes your sign in, every row stored for your account and your email choice, and then clears the copy of Atlas on that device. It cannot be undone, so export a copy first if you want to keep your data. Copies on your other devices stay there until you delete them in Atlas or remove the app.
- If you had agreed to product emails, we also take your address off our mailing list within 30 days. To do that we keep only a one way fingerprint of the address (a hash), never the address itself.
- If you used Sign in with Apple, you can also stop Atlas using your Apple Account: on your iPhone open Settings, tap your name, then Sign-In & Security, then Sign in with Apple, and choose Atlas.
- If you want to keep the account but remove what is stored in it, Delete my cloud data in the same place removes every row and signs you out.
Emails about other TESAVA products
When you create an account with an email address there is an unticked box: "Email me about other TESAVA products". It is optional and nothing about Atlas changes either way. If you tick it, we may send you occasional emails about other products made by TESAVA Ltd. Our lawful basis is your consent.
- What we record: that you ticked the box, when, the version of the wording you saw and where you ticked it. We keep this record so we can show what you agreed to. Your email address itself is the one on your account.
- Who sends the emails: TESAVA Ltd, through our email provider, which processes your address on our behalf to deliver them.
- Changing your mind: switch it off at any time in Settings, Account and sync, or use the unsubscribe link in any of the emails. We record the withdrawal and stop. Switching off does not affect your Atlas account or data.
- Deleting your cloud data does not change this choice, because it is a separate record. Deleting your account does.
Reading a supplement label from a photo
Add a product by photo reads a supplement's label so you do not have to type it. You choose how it is read, and you check everything before it is saved.
- On your device: when you are not signed in, or when you choose Read on this device, the label is read by software that runs on your device. The photo never leaves it and is not kept once the reading is done.
- With AI, only if you allow it: when you are signed in, Atlas asks before it sends any photo. If you allow it, the photo is shrunk and sent once, through our own reading service, to Claude, an AI service made by Anthropic, PBC in the United States, which reads the words on the label and sends back the product name and ingredients. Nothing about you travels with the photo and we do not store it. Anthropic does not use it to train its models; it may keep it for a short time for safety checks and then deletes it. Our lawful basis is your consent. You can change your answer at any time in Settings, Data and privacy, Read labels with AI.
- What is saved (the product name, its ingredients and when you take it) lives with the rest of your data on your device and, if you sync, in your account.
Camera and photos
The iPhone app asks for the camera only when you choose Take a photo, and opens your photo library only when you choose Choose a photo. It uses them for nothing else. You can change either permission at any time in your iPhone's Settings.
Notifications
In the iPhone and iPad app, the fasting timer can remind you when it is time to start your fast and when you reach your goal. These reminders are off until you switch them on in Fasting, and the app asks for your permission to show notifications first. They are local notifications: your iPhone or iPad schedules them itself, nothing about them is sent to us, and no notification token is created or shared. You can switch them off in Fasting, or for all of Atlas in the Settings app under Notifications. The web app does not send notifications; reminder times you set on the website are stored with your settings like everything else.
Sharing or printing your routines
Share or print makes an Atlas PDF of the parts of your plan you pick, on your device. It is not sent to us. In the iPhone app it opens the share sheet and you choose where it goes, such as a message, an email, AirDrop, a printer or Files; on the website it downloads. The PDF says it was made with Atlas and has a link and a QR code to the Atlas page; following that link is an ordinary visit to our website. Your journal, cycle log, check ins and account details are never included.
Rating Atlas
After you have used the iPhone app on a few days over a week, it may ask Apple to show Apple's own rating box. To choose a good moment, Atlas keeps the days it was opened and the day it last asked, on your device only; they are never sent to us. The rating itself goes to Apple under Apple's terms.
Exporting and deleting your data
- To export: open Settings, Data and privacy, Export. The iPhone app opens the share sheet so you can save the file to Files or send it where you choose; the web app downloads it. Atlas does not send it anywhere itself.
- To import: Settings, Data and privacy, Import replaces everything with a file you exported earlier.
- To clear a device: Settings, Data and privacy, Start again clears everything and Atlas starts empty. Removing the iPhone app, or clearing the site's data in your browser, also removes that device's copy.
- To delete what is in the cloud: Delete my cloud data or Delete account, as described above.
- Copies in your own backups or in files you exported stay until you delete them.
If you contact us
If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you write. We use them only to reply and to help you. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in answering your message. We keep support emails for up to two years and then delete them. We never add you to a mailing list.
Your rights
You control your Atlas data directly: you can see it, export it and delete it in the app at any time, and Delete account removes your account and everything stored for it. For anything else we hold about you, such as a support email, UK data protection law gives you the right to ask for a copy, to have it corrected or deleted, and to object to how we use it. Email us to use any of these rights. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Children
Atlas is made for adults planning their own routines and is not directed at anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will publish the new version at this address with a new effective date. Atlas cannot start collecting data quietly: any change like that would need a new version of the app, and we would update this policy before releasing it.
